Contractor working in the broadcast industry with experience in design, integration and testing of broadcast systems. I have managed a test team of 5–10 people across 2 sites, and 2 end-to-end test systems used for testing new STB releases and H/E upgrades for the Sky Q platform. I have also driven new automation of E2E test set-up using Bash, REST and Python scripting.

I worked on Sony’s pilot SOA project for RSI in Switzerland, including network & rack design, on-site installation, integration, UAT testing, bug tracking, customer acceptance and support staff training.

I have 3 years’ experience researching Computer Vision & Machine Learning and its applications for the broadcast industry, specifically to automatically annotate broadcast quality footage to assist with production flows and archive monetization. One research outcome was a working, scalable cloud-based system that could automatically annotate objects, people and locations in full-length clips directly uploaded from a broadcast camera. The research was sponsored by Sony Broadcast Professional Research Labs, with a 6-month collaboration with Adobe Research. I am author of three academic papers as well as my MPhil thesis titled "Scalable Online Annotation & Object Localisation for Broadcast Media Production".

I graduated from the University of Surrey in 2012 with a 1st class honours in Electronics and Computer Engineering BEng, including awards for best all-round BEng performance, best Electronic Engineering BEng/MEng final year project, best ECE BEng final year project and best performance in the professional training period.

In my spare time design and maintain websites for small business and local charities. I am always interested to talk about new web design, photo or video production opportunities.

I have previously been Video Equipment Officer for Surrey Stage Crew and Technical Producer for the Student Television Station during the year it won the Special Interest Society of the Year award. In 2013-14 I was President of the Postgraduate Society, winning awards for Best Student Run Service, Most Improved and Developed Society, and Society of the Year. More recently I was inaugural President and then Treasurer of the University's Garden Society 2014-16.
