Over the past 40+ years I've had the opportunity to develop deep expertise in the areas of innovative and effective learning, performance and change.
I am based in Europe, but have worked globally for many years. I specialise in strategic consultancy and change activities to help clients 'work smarter' and deliver real value.
My Background: I was a researcher and business school professor until the mid-1990s, then moved to the business world. I held the post of Chief Learning Officer at Reuters for 8 years and have subsequently worked with more than 250 companies and government agencies around the world helping them implement innovative performance solutions based on exploiting workplace and social learning and the 70.20.10 framework.
In 2015 I founded the 70:20:10 Institute together with two colleagues (https://702010institute.com)
The Institute focuses on Value-Based Learning solutions and helps clients deliver measurable value from L&D investment. At the same time, we provide more than 40 defined solutions to assist our clients to 'perform at the speed of business'.
The principal areas I focus on are:
- Learning and performance strategies based on the 70:20:10 Framework*
- Embedding change across organisations
- Exploiting the power of workplace and social learning
- Building high performance organisations
- Creating cultures of continuous development
- Leadership development
- Performance support.
I've written books, and many papers and articles, on organisational performance improvement.
* the 70.20.10 framework is a model to support organisational performance and learning as a continuous process within the daily workflow. It exploits the power of learning through working and social interactions, performance support, coaching and other approaches. In other words, 70:20:10 focuses on learning from working (and others) rather than learning to work.
