Charles Wholey
Construction Manager in Reno, Nevada
I’m Charles Wholey, a construction superintendent based in Reno and Carson City, Nevada. Construction has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My father, Byron Wholey, owned and ran Wholey Construction, so I grew up on job sites, watching projects take shape from the ground up. That experience taught me the value of hard work, problem-solving, and leadership—things that still drive me today.
I took those lessons and built on them with formal education. After graduating from North Valleys High School, I pursued degrees that would sharpen my technical skills and management abilities. I earned an Associate of Science from Truckee Meadows Community College in 2020, an Associate of Applied Science in Technology from Western Nevada College in 2021, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Construction Management in 2023, graduating summa cum laude. Education gave me a deeper understanding of the industry, but my real learning has come from hands-on experience in the field.
I started as a Safety Officer and SWPPP Manager at CC Builders, where I gained a strong foundation in regulatory compliance and job site safety. Now, as a Construction Superintendent at LT Builders, I oversee projects from start to finish, making sure they run efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. I believe in leading by example, staying engaged on-site, and maintaining open communication with teams to keep everything on track.
Beyond work, I stay active in my community. I’ve volunteered as a basketball coach at Mendive Middle School, participated in the Lake Tahoe Cleanup, and supported organizations like Friends in Service Helping (FISH) and the Adopt-A-Trail Program in Carson City. I believe that what you build outside of work matters just as much as what you build on the job.
When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me outdoors. I love camping, golfing, and snowboarding—anything that lets me reset and refocus. Those activities keep me balanced and give me the clarity I need to tackle challenges, both in life and on the job site.
At the end of the day, my goal is simple: to build things that last, whether that’s a project, a team, or a reputation. I take pride in what I do, and I always strive to do it the right way.
