I am a Christchurch/West Coast artist.

After painting casually for the past 20 years, I began seriously painting in oils several years ago. With a love for the South Island's West Coast, my passion is to paint native birds and scenes that are unique to the West Coast and surrounding districts. I also love painting large flowers in bright, striking colours. I photograph the flowers and scenes and many of the native birds. I then work from the photograph to create my own unique style. Each painting is therefore completely original.

My style is modern with strong, bold colours and I always sign my work as "Charley Gray".

I am now semi-retired and my husband and I spend our time between Christchurch and Reefton. My art can be viewed online or in the Reefton Gallery.
