Charlie Wong 翁 嘉 立

Mr Charlie Wong was appointed as the General Manager of Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media Ltd from July 2015 through July 2017, following a wide-ranging and successful career in the IT, telecommunications, online portal and digital business industries in Taiwan. He is now studying in Academia Sinica, the most prestigious research institute on Taiwan, in pursuit of PhD degree in Information Science.
Mr Wong began his career in Taiwan in the late 1980s at Acer, before spending most of the 1990s at Ogilvy, where his clients included Microsoft, AT&T and IBM. From there, he held a number of roles in telecommunication and IT firms, before becoming General Manager of CNET Networks in 2006. In 2011, he was appointed as Country Director of Agoda Taiwan where he remained until taking up the position with Messe Frankfurt New Era.
Mr Wong oversees Messe Frankfurt New Era’s 15 a&s magazines published in Asia and Europe as well as three online portals for the global security industry.
Mr Wong graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from Tunghai University, and also earned an MBA from the NationalTaiwan University in 2003.
