Charlie Zupetz

A Kentucky businessman and avid sportsman, Charles Zupetz demonstrated a passion and enthusiasm for team sports from an early age. During his college years, Mr. Zupetz was a standout member of the Colorado College Tigers ice hockey team. Today, he serves as the founder and owner of a Louisville-based industrial wholesaler called Mid-American Vulcanizing. Aside from his regular business activities, Charles Zupetz partakes in a number of hobbies that reflect a continued interest in sports and a love of travel. During his youth, Charles Zupetz was fond of playing both hockey and football. After graduating from high school, he was recruited by Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Colorado College, and the Air Force Academy. He accepted a full scholarship to Colorado and earned designation as an All-State hockey player from 1972 to 1974. He also garnered recognition as an All-State football player in 1972 and 1973. A key member of the hockey team during his time there, Charles Zupetz displayed perseverance and played in over 50 games. One of his most distinguished moments came during a 1974 game against the Michigan Technological University (Michigan Tech) Huskies, when during the final period he scored 2 decisive goals to lead his team to victory with a final score of 4 to 2. With his hockey days mostly behind him, Charles Zupetz currently takes part in more relaxing activities such as boating, fishing, and duck hunting. He enjoys being out in nature whenever he gets the chance, and belongs to Ducks Unlimited. Additionally, he remains active in his community and holds membership in several organizations, including the United Mine Workers of America, the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, and Gethsemane Lutheran Church.
