I have worked creatively with children for nearly 30 years. I am founder member and creative director of Theatre of Adventure and the Magic Adventure installation. I originally trained as a community musician and work as a freelance facilitator of comedic and visual performance and an artist educator specialising in early childhood. I describe my self as an animateur (someone who breathes creative life into a venture).

My overarching focus is developing complicité between people of all ages through Playfulness.
My current work explores the relationship between funniness and musicality, developing pedagogy to support young children’s learning - particularly the 0-3 year age range.
As part of my Masters in Early Childhood Music, for which I gained a distinction, I have presented research papers exploring Communicative Musical Funniness in Finland, The Netherlands, Estonia & throughout the UK.
This work brings together theories and practices of communicative musicality, the psychology of humour and the working pedagogy of physical comedy (clowning). It applies them in an examination of how two-year-old children communicate with each other. I think that artists have a long tradition of re connecting with their early childhood state of present moment and authenticity. This drives my work with any age.
I am the Director of Music and Arts at the Priory Children’s Centre in Great Yarmouth. The centre has had an embedded music practice since its inception as a trailblazer centre in 2001. At a recent conference Naomi Eisenstadt, the architect of Surestart said, “I don’t know of any Children’s Centre in the country that does such unique work with music”
