Charlotte Brown

Interdisciplinary Storyteller in Chicago, IL

If there's one thing Charlotte Breanne Brown (they/them) would compare themselves to it's definitely three raccoons in a trench coat.

After all, Charlotte is a night owl and likes to joke that, like raccoons, they are nocturnal. Charlotte is also frequently asked if they are tired due to their dark under-eye shadows that look similar to the “raccoon mask.”

Like raccoons, Charlotte can thrive in a variety of different environments. Charlotte moved from their hometown of Disney World aka, Orlando, Fl to Chicago, IL to pursue their MFA in Comedic Screenwriting from Depaul University in September of 2021.

Like the domesticated raccoons, Piper, Cheeto, and Tito, Charlotte loves getting their hands dirty and creating art in various mediums. Most recently, that has manifested itself in the art of stage managing. Which is a skill that Charlotte picked up during the pandemic while everyone else was making sourdough bread. This creativity has also manifested in previous iterations of pursuing photography, filmmaking, and journalism at various points in their life. And it is this interdisciplinary skill set which helps inform everything they do.

Charlotte has a wealth of virtual theatre experience which includes working with people and theaters all across the world.

Charlotte is also the admin for the Facebook group “Tech Alliance of Distributed Artists (TADA!),” which aims to foster collaboration and share best practices for both “Zoomprov” and virtual theater.

Charlotte fully believes in the power art and storytelling has to change the world because culture is, after all , the stories we tell on a macro level, and to quote “Doctor Who,” “we are all just stories in the end.”
