Charlotte Dobre has always been a performer. She was actively involved in musical theatre all throughout grade-school and has been supported by all her mentors and teachers to the fullest. She decided to make performing her career and got her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre from the University of Victoria in British Columbia. She met her voice teacher, Gergana Velinova at the Victoria Conservatory of Music, where she enrolled as a part-time jazz vocalist. By the end of her first year of taking singing lessons, she was learning jazz standards meant for students in the Master's program. Her repertoire was extensive, and it was only a matter of time before she started writing her own music. After spending 6 months working on her debut album "Breathe", she was accepted into The New York Film Academy Acting for Film program in New York City, where she continued her performance education and had the chance to perform Theresa Rebeck's "A Big Mistake" at one of New York City's landmark theatres "The Players Club". Charlotte brings her energy, compassion and ability to connect with audiences to every stage she happens to step on. Compared to actresses like Lucille Ball and Meryl Streep, she hopes to one day be recognized as one of the greats, not in terms of fame, but for her love of film and the stage.
Charlotte Dobre is also an accomplished photographer and photomanipulation artist. Though she was self-taught, she recieved her photography and design training from the University of Victoria Visual Arts program, and started her photography business in 2009. She has had the opportunity to work for big name clients such as TD Canada Trust and also to photograph some of the biggest names in music, including: Tiesto, Metric, Girl Talk, OKGO, K-0s, Rusko, Skream & Benga, Pretty Lights and many more. She is also one of the official resident photographers for Shambhala Music Festival. Charlotte brings her love of dramatics into her photography. She believes the goal of an artist is to evoke feeling in an observer or listener. She does so by using colour, moments and the ability to bring out the best qualities and raw emotion in her subjects. Though she is most geared towards fashion and concert photography, she hopes to one day incorporate her love of both performance and visual art into cinematography and directing.
