Who? Charlotte Olsson was born, raised and is based in Göteborg, Sweden. Educated pattern designer who resigned from the clothing industry to work with fabric as a form of expression in her art instead.

Why? Charlotte Olsson’s art may at first seem naive, but behind the innocent motives her motif is hidden. She is inspired to use what already exists. Giving old craft a new life and with this a new value. Something that particularly intrests Charlotte is the wasted work of women handcraft. Especially embroidery, lace, fabrics etc. Today these amazing handcrafts aren’t worth much, this is why she has chosen to bring them back to life again.

How? The materials Charlotte Olsson uses are artwork in themselves. Nothing is the same. There are not two alike laces or two identical frames. Working on this basis means that every piece is absolutely unique. As far as possible, the material is both recycled and environmentally friendly. Charlotte builds with fabric, lace and pearls sculptures that grows out of the frames. The 3D effect is fantastic!

Where? Charlotte creates in a lovely studio in Gothenburg. You are welcome here for private viewing by appointment.
