Nestled on the Néac plateau in the Lalande de Pomerol appellation, just north of the famous Pomerol plateau, Château Canon Chaigneau is blessed with a unique terroir of clay, limestone, and iron-rich soils. This rich land, recognized by the Romans nearly 2,000 years ago, produces wines with exceptional complexity, elegance, and age-worthiness. 🌿

Blending Tradition with Innovation ⚒️✨

We combine traditional winemaking techniques with modern practices. Our vineyards are nurtured with minimal chemical intervention through ‘La lutte raisonnée’ (reasoned struggle), ensuring our wines remain authentic and eco-friendly. The wines are fermented in concrete vats and aged in old oak barrels, with 30% new French oak used since the 2019 vintage. 🛢️

Our wine blend consists of 90% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Pressac (Malbec), offering a wine that’s balanced, rich in flavor, and ideal for aging. With an annual production of 120,000 bottles, we create wines that embody both craftsmanship and precision.
