Chatón Turner

Pittsburgh, Pa.

I am a lawyer, a public speaker, a runner, and a writer. I started this blog because I like to write, and I thought that it was time to share my writing with others. Initially, I was nervous that I wouldn't find an audience, but I have. And that inspires me to write more!

Originally from Rochester, NY, I am one young professional Pittsburgh successfully roped in. I came here more than seven years ago to accept a position as an attorney with a large organization believing that I would only stay a few years. However, I fell in love and have made Pittsburgh my home. Now, Pittsburgh is a part of me and I have become a part of this city. In addition to practicing law, mothering and blogging, I have served as an adjunct professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

Not everything I do is related to the law! I have tried a lot of things. I was a cheerleader in high school and retain that enthusiasm for life. I have worked on a skeet shooting range and been an aerobics instructor. Before practicing law I had a career in sales and marketing. I have sold candy for M&M/Mars and ran successful campaigns for the Dial Corporation. At one point, I even tried out for "The Apprentice"and through that process I met "The Donald".

Like many moms out there, I wear a lot of hats.

When I’m not practicing law, I try to give back to the community in as many ways as possible. I presently serve as Vice President of a local Foundation and I am a member of the Women’s Leadership Circle of United Way. I have also mentored several students bound for college. Come election time, you can always find me volunteering to protect the rights of voters seeking to participate in the political process. I even managed to get promoted at my "real job" after becoming a mom!

Sometimes my life is a bit overwhelming, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
