It all started with a promise. My aunt was a person of ill-health, and she would tell me that she wanted to live long enough to see me become successful. Feeling that I was responsible for fulfilling her wishes I promised her I would be successful, and in two thousand and seven my aunt passed away leaving me alone with my promise. I assumed the task of overcoming the pain and I eventually conquered my pain and fears of lost hope and carried on my dream and promise. Nothing was going to stop me from achieving my personal success.
It all started with a line. In second grade I took art for the first time, and I couldn’t believe how much art connected with me. I loved it. As I grew in size and intellect I started to become more unified with my imagination and it showed through my art and structures. After my youth stages my lines turned into elaborate shapes and I started to create more elaborated structures and artwork and I continued my quest for success. I continued to expedite the dream and I started to compete against the odds and prevailed. My success started in fourth grade when I had one of my concept drawings of a truck published in a newspaper. After that experience my shapes turned into shades and shadows as I grew in my art and my adventure into the wonders of science. In eleventh grade, two thousand eleven, I competed in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Art Contest and won Best of Show, which is first place, in the district. The next year, in two thousand twelve, I won the Art Show two more times, for a painting and sculpture, and had an opportunity to compete in the prestigious Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Quick Draw Contest where only 68 out of 1000 had the opportunity to compete. Also I proceeded in my journey of practicing the arts by working on big art projects for my high school district, small companies, and also socially important individuals.
It all started with a goal. My goal is to integrate Art, Engineering and Design to create means of innovation towards spiritual connection with creation. I am currently twenty years old and I’m starting a design studio this year and will be starting my professional journey through means of clothing, artistic lamps, sculptures, custom logos and art pieces. May God follow me on this journey and guide my ink into eternal creation. Encre de Dieu…Ink of God.
