Chaya Deitsch

Author of the upcoming memoir Here and There: Leaving Hasidism, Keeping My Family, Chaya Deitsch grew up as a Lubavitcher in New Haven, Connecticut. Living in an Orthodox Jewish household until she left for college, Chaya discovered a secular knowledge and started building her identity. Around this time she decided to leave the religion she once held completely. Although her family members didn’t fully understand, the unconditional love they had for her reigned true and Chaya has since offered her experiences in her personal memoir, to be released on October 13.
