Phonetically, my name is "Shy-a-nee-kah" but its Indian origins always manage to get lost amongst the various pronounciations. I was born in New Delhi, India but raised in the city of Toronto hence most people think I'm culturally confused but I would beg to differ. I am a first year Journalism student at Ryerson University and I aspire to be the editor-in-chief at Vogue. I am a sucker for delicious food and a good novel, and I enjoy dancing like nobody's watching. My work experience is quite diverse, ranging from volunteering at a hospital for 2 years to being a part-time model. I am an editorial intern at WORN Fashion Journal, which is a print publication based in Toronto that caters to people all over the world.

Hopefully, my passion translates well into the work I do in the future because writing is what I know best and do best. I wouldn't be able to pursue something with as much determination and drive as I would journalism. I'm looking forward to the next four years at Ryerson and I can't wait discover all the things I excel at because this is my time to shine.
