Lysgaard Kappel
Also known as the Casa, the Children's Pool is a
small beach partly protected with a sea wall.
The original purpose here was to create a completely
protected swimming area, while sand has now
filled in much of the area that exists to the
inside of the wall.
This can be a very beautiful beach, offering a few
Beautiful views. Just about all year long, seals and
sea lions are present on o-r near the beach, with
a reserve for these marine mammals, known as Seal
Rock being just a little off-shore.
The Youngsters' Pool is within a short walking
Length of the commercial section of the area
of La Jolla. You will find grassy park areas a

Wipeout Beach to the south and Shell Beach to the
north.
Youngsters' Pool can be a favorite beach for
Diving divers due to the reefs just offshore.

surf conditions.
Lifeguard protection
Lifeguards are staffed daily through the year.
In the summer, lifeguard hours are typically 9 AM
until dark. All through other times of the entire year,
lifeguards may not start work until 10 AM.
Guidelines
From the north, take I-5 to Manhattan project Jolla Village
Travel, westbound. In the intersection,
turn left onto Torrey Pines Road. Follow this
road to Prospect Street and turn right. Be on
the lookout for symptoms and bear right onto Coast
Blvd.
In the south, just take I-5 north to La Jolla
Parkway. Carry on following it as it will become
Torrey Pines Road. Follow this road to Prospect
Street and take a right. Watch for the signs then
take a close to Coast Boulevard.
Parking
At Manhattan project Jolla Cove, there is an extremely limited amount
