J. Christopher “Chris” Hebert came to McNeese in the Fall of 2016 to head up the Sales Communications concentration tract for students majoring in Mass Communications. He is an individual who cares deeply about student outcomes and is willing to work with his student to ensure they are getting the most out of each class.
Hebert is most interested in developing lifelong learning skills as well as fostering an environment that promotes the development of critical thinking skills. His goal with each student is to help create an individual who is able to function as highly-skilled solutions provider in their respective fields. He believes in empowering students to take ownership of their education and ultimately be are responsible for their learning outcomes. Hebert’s philosophy is rooted in helping educate a generation of future professionals to function knowledgeably in both a society and an industry where rapid technological advances constantly pose new questions and ethical challenges.
Chris Hebert earned his bachelor’s degree from The University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a Master of Science Degree in Integrated Marketing Communication from West Virginia University. He has worked for over 16 years in the fields of strategic business communications, media relations, sales management and marketing. He brings a wide scope of experience having put into practice the principles he now teaches. He brings his experience in the fields of Sports and Recreation, Healthcare and Nutritional Ingredients into the classroom and draws on his work at the agency level as a Creative Director and Copywriter where he worked with a number of clients in a wide spectrum of industries.
