Chef Shacafrica "Chef Shac" has been training to be a master in the kitchen since she was 5-years old. It was a challenge from her grandfather to make fried eggs for breakfast one day that started her affection to make food preparation a flavorful production. Chef Shac admits it took years for her to embrace her childhood hobby as a real gifting. But, finally one day...at the advice her ex-husband, she entered culinary school. While in school, Chef Shac says she received several confirmations that she was in the right place...including obtaining an executive chef job at a local country club. In addition to that, she says, it was an unexpected catering job for an "FBI event," and one of the event participants telling her "the food lifted his spirit," that she began to realize being a chef was truly her God-calling. Today, as a "Celebrity/Life Chef" she makes weekly television appearances on a Local News Morning Show in Tallahassee, FL. Also, as the owner of Chef Shac LLC,, she provides exclusive food preparation, catering, consulting, health and wellness workshops, and oversees several educational initiatives. Chef Shac's main focus is empowerment...and now her widely growing "Empowered By Food" program continues to expand. The program teaches people to take ownership of their eating experiences, educates them on healthy eating habits, shows people how to combat obesity, eat affordably and learn various ways to support local farmers/growers. Through cooking demonstrations, food empowerment workshops and one-on-one consulting this program, combined with her "Cooking with Color" initiative(a cross-cultural food training program), truly gives everyone she serves a "flavorful experience."
