Executive Chef Tonne Khabir is the senior partner of Bobsaith Consulting LLC where she specializes in creating and catering delicious low-fat, Middle Eastern, Creole-influenced dishes with an East African, kosher style, neo-soul twist. Her belief, Americans have moved away from fresh; we need to get back to fresh foods! Having been handed the cooking ladle by her retired, executive chef grandmother, Chef Tonne is a third-generation chef from Kansas City, Missouri who has been cooking since she was 13-years old. In some capacity, Chef Tonne has been cooking for the past 25 years. Chef Tonne attended the University of Kansas majoring in organizational communication and has received professional training in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. An avid international traveler, Bobsaith has traveled to and intensely studied food trends and cooking with friends from exotic places abroad such as France, Japan, Germany, and among many areas of Africa including Egypt, Tanzania, Nigeria and Kenya, and domestically, all over the United States. Before becoming an entrepreneur, Chef Tonne worked as a corporate chef with the infamous WorldCom, a Sous chef with the Dallas Convention Center's Culinaire International, their off-site catering division, and as assistant general manager at Newport Seafood in Dallas' West End District and as the Director of Catering for Walls Catering. Chef Tonne started Creative Events in the mid-90s as a way to supplement income; however after being laid off from their corporate jobs as corporate chef and sales executive from the now infamous WorldCom, without hesitation, Tonne and her then former husband, native Tanzanian, Faiz Bobsaith, blended their melting pot of experiences in sales, business, international travel, foreign and domestic cooking training, and reinvented Creative Events. Over the years, Chef Tonne has received numerous awards, letters of commendation and recognition for her tireless work as a culinary artist. Since opening in 1996, under the direction of Bobsaith and Bobsaith, Creative Events has been ranked for five consecutive years among the top 10 event planning companies in Dallas by the "Dallas Business Journal." She has served on numerous boards of directors such as the Shakespeare Festival of Dallas, and 500 INC. Chef Tonne has worked as a personal chef for an A-list of celebrity clients that include professional athletes, entertainers and business professionals. Her last endeavor as personal chef ended in 2005 with a final farewell to her friend, radio personality, actor, producer, entrepreneur and King of Comedy, Steve Harvey. In March 2009 Chef Tonne Khabir sold Creative Events and reinvented herself, she made an executive decision and paradigm shift to government contracting. Chef Tonne received a government contract award for non appropriated foodservice at Bolling AFB the first of its kind. In 2009, now Chef Tonne Khabir has chosen to change the focus her business she supplies organic/healthy food service management to public and private governmental entities. Chef Tonne Khabir has successfully produced affordable foodservice, educational seminars, and event management for its clients, she has 20 years in the foodservice and event management industry. She has arranged more than 1000 events which include a contract feeding for Cap Gemini, Inc for the duration of 3 Years to simple weddings for 50. Chef Tonne offer’s a full spectrum for any contract that we commit ourselves to do, this includes the orchestration of meetings, publishing of materials, securing of sites thru face to face surveys, delivery of food service items according to ServSafe guidelines and client feedback forms. Chef Tonne’s relationship with clients such as Cap Gemini, Southwest Airlines and Exxon Mobil Green Team has not only educated us but also elevated her commitment in the areas of logistics, customer service and environmentally sustainable food service initiatives. Chef Tonne is currently an active member of many professional organizations including the American Personal Chefs Association, a division of the American, Culinary Federation, and National Association of Government Contractors.
