Growing Up: I always had wanted to be a veterinarian. When I got to college I changed to Natural Resources with a concentration on aquatics and wetlands. After I graduate I want to work as a wildlife nutritionist and with habitat restoration.
Favorites: My favorite class is Wildlife Nutrition. It gave me the opportunity to aid in research with the bears. My favorite activities are riding horses (I have 7!), and training my puppy.
WSU Tidbits: My favorite spot on campus is definitely the bear pens! They are amazing animals.
Advice I have for new students is to get involved on campus. My college life has been SO much better since I got involved.
My advice for new Cougar parents is that moving away from home to experience college can be rough on students and parents (though some students won't admit it). Personally I think the best way to make everyone still feel like a family is to talk, whether that is a quick call, a video chat, or even a text can make all the difference. Sending care packages with cookies always helps too (those were my favorites).
Involvements: Orientation Counselor, Wildlife Society, and "HERDS" (Helping Equine Rescues with Direct Services)
