I grew up in a small town in Texas where the constant interaction of people - where everyone knows everyone - only fostered my love of community and language.

As an undergrad at Lamar Univ., I had the opportunity to backpack solo across England on a writing research project, creating a digital narrative as I followed the medieval pilgrimage to Canterbury Cathedral.

I'm completed my creative portfolio for my master's thesis, exploring how creative writing can promote social equity for Latina youth in Dallas via blackout poetry workshops.

Now, I’m creating a diverse bookshop featuring Voices Less Heard in the Boise metropolitan area in Idaho. It’s named after my grandmother, Ida Pearl Bodden.

I'm a creative, a yogi, a poet, a minimalist (at times), an optimist, and an education advocate. But that's just a handful of what makes me, me.
