Chelsea Berry

Mother and Recruiter in Spokane Valley, Washington

I was born on January 27, 1991 in Lima, Ohio. I am a mother, sister, and daughter in a huge understanding family. I live in Spokane Valley, Washington after moving from North Carolina almost a year ago. I live with my mom, Anita; my step-dad, Kenneth; my fiance, Jarrod; my oldest son, Odin; and my youngest son, JJ. I had my children at young age and wasn’t ready. I have learned a lot about what it really takes to be a mother. I have five siblings who live on the east coast, my older brother, Brent; My older sister, Colleen; my younger brother, Matthew; my younger brother, Denali; and the baby of the family is my sister, Zoe. My Dad, Jason and step-mom, Stephanie live on the east coast as well.

My name is Chelsea Berry. I started school when I was six-years-old. I went to kindergarten through fourth grade at Bald Creek Elementary and Gouge Elementary in North Carolina. Then I attended Bowman Middle School, East Yancey Middle School, and Homeschooled from fifth grade to eighth grade. I then attended Mountain Heritage High School, where I played Varsity Soccer and graduated with National Technical Honors. I have also attended Mayland Community College and the University of Phoenix for criminal justice.

I started working eight months after graduating high school. I worked as an administrator/receptionist for my father’s company in North Carolina, while attending college. I worked for him for four years until I met my fiance and moved to West Virginia. While in West Virginia I accepted a job as a gas station clerk. I made shift manager in four months and then I had to move to Washington because of my mother’s health. I was able to know the area a little bit before accepting the job at Qualfon in Liberty Lake. My grandfather passed and had to quit my job so that I was able to attend the funeral in North Carolina. I am actively looking for work.

After writing this it seems that I haven’t really finished anything other than high school. Being a mother is endless, I will never reach the finish line but I have learned to be dedicated, patient, punctual, understanding, and to give everything your all. You never know what could happen at any moment and your life be altered in a drastic way. I have learned that change isn’t bad, it allows you to pick up the pieces in your life and make life better than before.
