Chelsea Schuchman

Chelsea Schuchman most recently engaged with the Baker Art Museum in Naples, Florida, as part of its Ambassador Program. As a docent, Chelsea Schuchman assisted with transitioning exhibits and interacted with patrons. She also gained experience with the Ace Gallery in Los Angeles from 2014 to 2015 in an appointed role as assistant curator of a solo exhibition of Ben Jones.
Ms. Schuchman attended the Leysin American School in Switzerland and took part in the boarding school’s international baccalaureate program in history and English. She subsequently studied merchandise marketing at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles and took communications courses through the University of California, Los Angeles, Extension.
Ms. Schuchman has a longstanding interest in 20th century art and authored a paper on Frank Stella’s concentric square painting Pratfall. In the paper, Chelsea Schuchman describes the emotional impact of geometrical spatial effects and gradient color scheme which defined Stella’s work in the 1970s as he explored minimalism.
