Christina Henderson

Washington, DC

Christina Henderson is a Brooklyn-born, Southern-raised Army brat caught in the intersection of her love for politics, policy, and pop culture. Professionally, she serves as the deputy chief of staff for D.C. Councilmember David Grosso and directs the Council of the District of Columbia's Committee on Education, which has budget and performance oversight for all matters related to the city’s public education system and libraries. Additionally, Christina crafts and helps advance legislation on an array of issues which deeply impacts D.C. residents including criminal justice, health care, transportation, the environment, and business, consumer, and regulatory affairs.

A fierce advocate for strong public education systems, Christina has worked for D.C. Public Schools, the New York City Department of Education, the National Association of State Boards of Education, and the Montgomery Township Board of Education. She also has experience working on Capitol Hill and several political campaigns.Earlier this year, Pacific Standard magazine named her one of the top 30 thinkers under 30 in the world of social and behavioral sciences.

Christina received her B.A. in Political Science from Furman University in Greenville, SC and her Master in Public Affairs degree from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School for Public and International Affairs. She is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and an alum of Education Pioneers and the New Leaders Council.
