Bio:
I find myself most passionate about translating cutting-edge technology in the lab into real world products that will change people's lives. Being educated in both China and the US, with background in mechanical engineering, physics, computer science and bioinformatics, I'm in a unique position to bridge the most advanced tech hotbed with the largest consumer market on this planet. After my research fellowship at the Broad Institute of Harvard & MIT and the Harvard Medical School, I founded Seqnosis Technologies in China (www.seqnosis.com), whose mission is to create the most advanced cloud platform to catalyze precision medicine in China. I also founded Sequana Computing in the USA (www.sequanacomp.com), which aims at building the most sophisticated computational platform for DNA sequencing big data tasks. In both teams, we are proudly working extremely hard to bring futuristic medicine to the world. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, traveling, soccer, and writing.
Academic Background:
I attended Beijing University of Astronautics & Aeronautics for Mechanical Engineering (2002-2006), and obtained my MS in Condensed Matter Physics from Peking University (2006-2009). I then moved to Atlanta GA to pursue my PhD in Bioinformatics at Georgia Tech. I completed the program in three years, graduated with the best PhD thesis of the University in 2012, and was subsequently elected a member of the honorable Sigma Xi Society. In 2013, I joined the Broad Institute of Harvard & MIT and Harvard Medical School to further research the applications of NGS on precision medicine and complex diseases. My research has been published in more than 20 peer-reviewed papers in high profile journals including PNAS and Nature Biotechnology.
