Lynn Chen

Hello!
Welcome to my sweet world of pastries, delicacies, and some serious astronomy and microbiology.

A brief personal background: Japanese & Chinese, grew up in the US but with all 3 cultures carefully preserved in a single unique flavor that makes - me. I tend to think alternating between languages, with whatever language that has the word that most precisely fits my thoughts. Yes, I can speak fluently and am literate - in Japanese and English. Unfortunately, not so much the Mandarin; beginner-intermediate level.

As cliché as this sounds, my passion is in giving my time for others.
I am an aspiring pre-med student hoping to one day be in an office talking about enterocolitis with a patient, laboring in a endoscopy lab, and sending them out with a smile and knowledge that I care about each patient.
During breaks I volunteer at a nursing home, talking to residents in the Alzheimer's wing, bringing them breakfast with an ever-lasting smile. Nothing is more beautiful than seeing a smile on a resident's face, just from a simple greeting.
Most of my work experiences come from tutoring - what better way to share your knowledge to those wanting to learn?
When I can find the time between my pre-medical and business administration studies, I spend hours scanning through recipes and experimenting with them. But what is food when there's no one to share with? I cook and bake for those I share with.
Cafe and restaurant exploring are just the same. Most of my points of interest in travel destinations are eateries(especially ones with chocolate). It's finding happiness within, then letting them radiate for others to bask in that matters in the end!
I like to stargaze and go on photography trips because, yes, those hobbies makes me happy, but ultimately I hope to share that happiness in some way. My hope is that when I talk about my happiness via expressing excitement over stars or sharing my captured images, the happiness would be contagious. Simple phenomena but true - being around happy people makes other people happy too!

Don't get me wrong though - my drive comes from within, not without. I enjoy leading, both myself and my peers. I guide, mediate, and manage.

In the future, I hope to be a leader that can make change on behalf of society, no matter the scale of difference.
