Hey, I’m Cherica. I’m a student living in Durham, North Carolina. I am a fan of arts, cooking, and shopping. I’m also interested in swimming and dogs. You can visit my website with a click on the button above.
I acquired an interest in health service during my high school years. It came to my attention that a serious problem with health issues existed among fellow students. Some of the students reported having STIs, STDs; such as HIV, gonorrhea, chlamydia, and others. I was concerned about these problems and sought to find a solution. During this time, I took three nursing classes and decided to pursue this field of education. I originally enrolled in the nursing field as a freshman at North Carolina Central University. I wanted to be more specific in my career goal of working with people incurring problems with STIs, STDs, and diseases of this nature, so I later changed my major to Public Health Education. I am currently a junior at North Carolina Central University and continue to pursue my education and career goal of working in Public Health Education. As a junior at North Carolina Central University, I am taking health education courses. I recently joined SOPHE and Alpha Sigma Gama. While working with them, I volunteered to participate in community service activities: such as, the blood drive, and project heat field day which involved playing basketball, running the track, and jump roping. Another fundraiser required selling raffle tickets for SOPHE. In the future, I see myself as a graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health Education from North Carolina Central University. Shortly afterward, I intend to be working in health department as a medical physician assistant and counselor in the state health department, while studying the different types of diseases and how to prevent them. I see myself as a motivated and successful contributor to the medical field.
