Personal Statement
As the only child in my family, I had gained full attention from my parents who tried their best to offer me a happy childhood and cultivate me into an all-round person. Consequently, different from many other Chinese students who spend most of their time on school work, I have various hobbies and interests such as swimming, playing badminton and being together with my friends and classmates. I love meeting new friends and I get along pretty well with people around me.
Participating in the summer camp held in the United States in 2013 was a major event so far in my life which made me considering studying in the United States since I think its education fits me better. I’m excited and surprised about all the difference compared with my homeland. While from the 5th day, I caught a cold and started to cough, accompanied by a high fever. During the next two weeks, I was in sick. Because we had only one guide teacher who had to take care of the other students, I had to go between my home-stay family and the clinic myself with the driver. But all the toughness did not terrify me, I frequently recalled my experience in the United Stated after I came back home, I loved the teaching style and education system. Then I made up my mind to apply for American high school. Therefore, I went to Shanghai to study in the China-America Cooperation Program in Shanghai Shangde Experimental School, International Division all by myself in September, 2013. The teachers and classmates are so different from my previous ones that I had a wonderful time in the school. During the past semester, there’s one thing I feel pride of myself. I was selected as the school representative in the MUN held in Guangzhou. Communicating with students all over the nation during the 4 days was a pleasure to me. Not only did I learn more about the UN and UN spirit, I also came to know more about my country by meeting new friends. In my spare time, I often practiced English to prepare for TOEFL. Now my English ability has improved in all sections including reading, listening, writing and speaking. More importantly, I had learned how to be a self-depended person with the confidence to face all the challenges.
I also lead a colorful extra-curricular life. I often play badminton or go swimming with my friends. I had learned the saxophone for two years from 2008 to 2010, so sometim
