Cheryl Fusco Johnson

For 25 years I taught creative writing at The University of Iowa's Iowa Summer Writing Festival and in other venues. My writing has appeared in The Atlantic, Writers Handbook, Children's Writers Newsletter, and many other publications. I was instrumental in launching the Iowa Chapter of The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, and my writing students have won fiction contests, writing grants, and contracts from major and independent publishers. For "nurturing many writers who have gone on to success in children's literature," I received an Outstanding Service Award from Iowa's SCBWI chapter. I enjoyed interviewing authors, like Anne Lamott and Natalie Goldberg, on the radio show, Writers Voices, and I currently explore the creative process onThe Studio with Cherylby interviewing creative people in all walks of life.
