Cheryl Hillman

Greetings, I’m Cheryl. I’m a teacher living in Port Alberni, BC.

In my classroom we do forest school, loose parts, Genius hour, counting collections, playdoh and lots of hands on learning. I am currently teaching grade one but have taught K-5 and 8-12. I have also taught online, and as a homeschool coordinator. I also have taken contract work designing online courses for Alberta Distance Education, Norquest College and a private school in BC.

At home I have four kids and a small farm. My kids are 8, 11, 13, and 15. They keep me busy with band rehearsals, badminton, and baseball. On the farm we milk a small herd of goats for our milk, cheese, and soap. We also have ducks and chickens for eggs and meat. Our orchard, gardens, and greenhouse produce most of the food we eat.

In my spare time I am enjoying taking courses from Queens University so I can better support and advocate for all of my students.
