Cheryl Munroe

Toronto, ON

Now, I know what you might be thinking..."seasoned, eh? so, she's old...outdated...a dinosaur". And truth be told, yes, I have been in advertising long enough to relate to many aspects of Mad Men. My career began at Ogilvy ordering stock photos for the creative department, replenishing paper in the fax machine and attending meetings where people smoked in their office.

But, outdated? Not a chance. Yes, I may have mastered how to exquisitely execute a print, TV and radio campaign or craft a poignant brand strategy, but I soon realized that if I’m in this for the long haul, I better do two things: 1) wear more than just a “suit” - wear many 2) grasp this new 'digital' world. So, fast-forward through a decade (give or take…ok, give) where I strategically transitioned from foam core to CSS. I’ve been spending the last five years of my career immersing myself in Web User Experience, Online Merchandising & Marketing and Social Media Strategies.

Professionally, I love creating renewal from chaos, building trust with my team and client partners, making tough decisions and influencing a positive project outcome.

Personally, I love to run, help any animal in need, travel, and learn anything new (i.e. - recent brain expanding exercises include a Wordpress class to writing a blog about world geography).

But enough about me talking about me, this is what other* people have said about me:

- Cheryl is influential. She creates confidence in her team that is rooted in trust & respect.

- She thrives in situations that require immediate repair and stabilization.

- Even if we had different points of view, it never felt confrontational - she has an uncanny ability to talk through tenuous situations.

- She is a strong leader and a great client partner with an inquisitive mind. She's not afraid to challenge convention.

- A contagious, optimistic spirit - Cheryl creates momentum.

- She is assertive, confident and most importantly, she is accountable.

- She has an uncommon amount of common sense, a high bullshit meter with good insights and instincts.
