Chester Bourfa

I have been working in safety management for 8 years now having joined James Broad Construction after leaving University.

Initially I studied construction management for a number of years in my hometown of Glasgow before moving on to safety management where I had the opportunity to work in the industry I had studied and make an impact by ensuring a safe work environment.

In the 8 years I have been working I have had some great opportunities to not only get experience under my belt but further my education with the IOSH Managing Safely course at Glasgow Clyde College.

Since the completion of this course I have travelled all around the UK advising on different projects and have been invited to help investigate incidents and pin point hazards that could have been the route of the issue before moving on to prevention plans.

Safety Management should be a big part of any business and in the construction business it is crucial that precautions are taken to avoid incident.

Outside of work I am a keen amateur photographer and focus mostly on nature. I also enjoy travelling which goes hand in hand with my hobby as I get the opportunity to photograph animals and wildlife that I might not normally have the opportunity to.

I still live in Glasgow and have recently been approached regarding a high profile part time consulting role. I will hopefully have more news to follow on this in the next few months.
