I am research scholar from Jawaharlal Nehru University. I am interested in understanding the psychology of human behaviour, especially, how human self is a matter of societal representation. For me self seems to be not a stagnant entity but a process where society makes major impact. However, this politics of self can be a product of legitimacy of dominant societal value system or could be a subjugated one. Thats why my emphasis is to look this process from group level and not as individual based subsidization. The nature of self in given cultural environment has made major breakthrough in the career of self. I am therefore also interested in the evolution of culture and construction of identity in the imposed cultural and social ecology. Presently, I am looking into the social phenomenon of academic achievement and its politicization in the Indian educational context.
