Chet Lowe was born and raised in the Bahamas, where his family lived their Christian faith daily. His parents, Ira and Pam Lowe, genuinely cared for others and served God consistently. Their example shaped Chet from the very beginning. At just seven years old, he organized his first ministry effort—a small Vacation Bible School held in the garage of his family home. That early step planted a seed of purpose that would guide the rest of his life.

The influence of family marked his childhood. Chet grew up alongside his siblings, Susan and Matthew, and their shared relationships strengthened his sense of community and faith. His upbringing was rooted in belief andtion, with his parents encouraging a life that put others first.

As a young teenager, Chet began taking part in missions work overseas. At thirteen, he joined a trip to South Korea to help build a church, and a year later, he traveled to Liberia to assist in creating a school. These trips showed him that ministry could extend far beyond his home country. They also confirmed what he felt inside—that he was being called to serve wherever needed.

In 1994, Chet married Andrea, and the following year, they moved to Liberia with their newborn. The country was in a civil war, but Chet and Andrea felt strongly about their decision despite the risks and uncertainty. They went not for comfort but to serve people living through hardship.

Their time in Liberia was both difficult and meaningful. Amid the instability and violence, they helped plant 17 churches and started Joseph’s Brethren, a ministry that focused on helping children caught in the crisis. Over 1,500 children—many of whom were former child soldiers—were rescued and placed in care. Through this effort, they provided safe places for healing and support, allowing children to experience something different from the pain they had known.

During these years, Chet and Andrea’s family grew. They had five biological children—one before Liberia, two during, and two after returning to the United States. Eventually, they opened their home to four more children through adoption and mentorship. Their family became an example of what it looks like to welcome others with love, no matter the circumstance. Back in the U.S., Chet began working at Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale, where he had attended church for many years.
