Chewy's Gourmet Kitchen (DBA Chewy Goo-wey Gourmet Apples) is a small family owned business located in Metro Detroit. I am the mother of three children and two grandchildren.

After working in Corporate America for 35 years and losing my job, I was totally lost and confused. I did not know what to do, or think, or where to start. All kind of questions were going through my mind. How am I going to provide for my family such as rent, lights and food etc.? Being unemployed for almost three years it was time to make a change. Therefore, I decided to start a small business making gourmet caramel apples, and chocolate goodies.

After discovering there is was no Shoppes in the Metro Detroit area making caramel apples we decided to take advantage of the opportunity and run. Caramel apples are really big at Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. So we decided, let us take this faith walk and see what happens.

Well after doing some research and taking a few online classes and experimenting on my children, because children will tell you the truth , the caramel was a big HIT.

My grandson Jordan named the company Chewy's Gourmet Apples. Our first event was a fundraiser for my son's basketball team at school. After an overwhelming response from students and teachers, Chewy's Gourmet Apples came to existence in late November 2008. Two years of thinking should we do this, the dream became a reality. In 2010, Chewy Gourmet Kitchen became an L.L.C., with the State of Michigan.

Our caramel is handmade from scratch, we use all natural ingredients and no artificial flavoring, we are also Gluten Free. We cook our caramel in small batches to make sure the flavor is precise and cook evenly. Our goal is to bring unique gourmet confections to those who seek good old fashion homemade taste and affordability.
