Growing up, I loved playing sports. I played football at the Boys and Girls Club in my hometown Valdosta, Ga when I was in elementary school and won a title. I then went on to play football in middle school but started to not appreciate football as much. I did find a new passion in playing soccer. The summer before I went to sixth grade, the World Cup was happening. My dad is a huge soccer fan so of course we had to watch it. I liked soccer but I was never as into it as my dad was. I finally decided to give it a chance that summer. It didn’t take long for me to realize that this sport was the greatest in the world. Because of my new found love for soccer, I decided to try out for my middle school team in sixth grade. To my luck, I made the team and even though I was placed everywhere position wise, I was able to live through some great learning experiences. It wasn’t until high school when I started to elevate my play. I mainly played winger but sometimes changed positions when it was required of me. My freshman year, I played jv but finished the season with varsity. We sadly placed second in the region but were able to bounce back quickly thereafter. My sophomore year, I was on varsity and helped my team win the regional championship title. My junior year, the team and I were tied for first place in region but our season sadly got cut short because of Covid. Lastly, my senior year ended with no silverware, but I was able to look back at all that my boys and I had accomplished with great pride.
