Hello, my name is Chimaobi Onwuka and I am studying Computer Science at Columbia University, with a focus on developing widely applicable problem-solving skills that can help solve today's "wicked" problems. I'm particularly ecstatic to be on this path of re-contextualizing of global issues and to have a strong and immersive liberal arts curriculum to help me do this.

I'm currently interested in the research and development of user-based wearables aimed at making the day-to-day life of impoverished populations in third-world countries easier. And coming from a community of this same background, I also seek to be at the forefront of ground-breaking technologies fixated on augmenting aging power and sewage infrastructure in the United States and abroad.

I'm currently affiliated with the Black Student Organization (BSO) and National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) on campus in hopes of connecting with my Nigerian culture on a deeper level and networking with other African-Americans to find ways to better serve our communities.

Throughout these last four years, I've had been given the opportunity to partake in numerous projects like "Sea Hunter", where I've not only been able to become more familiar with the engineering design process but gain experience in task delegation and project planning as well as improve my time-management collaborative skills.
