Jacinto Quesnel
Games Curator, Visual Artist, and Keynote Speaker in Mexico City, Mexico
Games curator. Visual artist. Keynote speaker. Mexico City & Madrid, working across Latin America and Europe.
My work asks one question: how do you get creative freedom back once the software has already decided for you? The exhibitions, the curating, the talks and the teaching all come out of that.
Doctorate, final stretch. Candidato a Doctor at UNAM (Academia de San Carlos): dissertation written and approved, defense in 2026. Research professor at Tecnológico de Monterrey.
Track record. Founder of the Game Lab at Centro de Cultura Digital (Mexico’s Ministry of Culture). Co-founder of DEVHR, the International Games Forum. I led the Digital Arts program at Tecnológico de Monterrey to #1 in Mexico and #35 worldwide, and brought in its double-degree agreement with CNAM-ENJMIN in France. I directed Mexico’s Global Game Jam 2018 site — the largest Spanish-speaking site on record, third worldwide. TEDx speaker. Advisor to Maquinitas – Ventana Sur. Peer reviewer for Mexico’s Sistema Nacional de Creadores. Three exhibitions in 2026.
