Chizuru Nihei

I constantly seek to be the creator of art and inspiration through my representation of song, theatre, and dance. Despite having over 13 years of growth as an Opera singer, my dream is to develop into a well-known Broadway performer. I have showcased my abilities in operas, musical theatre, plays, and concerts in Japan, Canada, and the States. Some of these include the Rebuild Japan Concert, an event hosted to raise money for the recent Japan Tsunami incident, and the Dance for Cure (IMAGAO Collection) Fashion Show, an event hosted to raise money Breast Cancer. I have also taken part in more familiar performances like Wicked for the Shiki Theatre Company in Japan. Throughout my training, I have obtained Perfect Pitch, gained experience in Sight Singing, and become proficient in playing the piano.

The foundation of my abilities as a performer is due to my Bachelor's level education in Music from The Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music which focused on Vocal Training as a Soprano. Due to my performance here, I was nominated as a Rotary International Scholar and studied abroad in Canada for 3 years, receiving a diploma from St. Lawrence College for Musical Theatre Performance and obtaining opportunities to perform as a Soprano soloist for the Haydn Mass and Schubert Mass.

One of my more recent performances was as Maria in West Side Story and La Traviata featured in the Benefit Fundraising Concert For Young Talents at The Center at West Park for the Harmonia Opera Company. I always welcome the opportunity to contribute to work alongside fellow composers and performers in contributing to today's art community.
