Singer, Producer, and author and composer in Buenos Aires, Argentina
Chocolate Remix is a female reggaeton music project from the City of Buenos Aires headed by singer, songwriter and producer Romina Bernardo (San Miguel de Tucumán) a.k.a. Chocolate. This project was born out of the need to criticize and resignify the male chauvinist content of reggaeton by using its musical logic to create a new concept called “Lesbian reggaeton”, where a female voice satirizes male reggaeton singers. Making use of the strong sexual content of this music style, Lesbian Reggaeton appropriates and recreates it in a queer key in order to tackle taboo subjects such as female pleasure and sexuality in its lyrics, while denouncing different issues that frequently affect women and the LGTB community such as discrimination, censorship and violence.
