I was first introduced to programming in my Sophomore year at Baraboo High School. Over the next two years I learned VBA using Visual Studio 6. After high school, I tried networking but ultimately came back to programming. I then spent 6 years working full time and going to school part time to slowly build toward my internship. I have spent over a year learning real world skills to bring everything together. During my intership, I have learned how to use C#, VBA, SQL, XML, PHP, Javascript, and Powershell Scripts to access and manipulate databases to get users their data in ways that are meaningful for them. I have learned and gained experience using tools such as Visual Studio 2012, SQL Server 2012 Management Studio, Toad for Oracle, Microsoft Access 2010, and Notepad for manipulating code or databases.I also have learned to use business analysis and project management to organize large scale company-wide projects which include but were not limited to implementing a new Data Access and Reporting Center, replacing over 25 access databases with a single SQL Server database, and implementing a FileTable database in SQL Server 2012 to use as a document repository for engineering contracts. As I finish my degree I'm beginning to look forward to a career as a programmer who works with team members to create solutions to help an organization utilize and manipulate their data across multiple platforms around the world.
