I study the physics of snow and ice. I combine field work, satellite data, and computer models to better understand what causes avalanches, and to predict how glaciers will respond to climate change. I have even conducted research into the best type of snow for making ice cream!

I like to share my science with the public and teach the next generation of earth scientists.
