I am a marine scientist who loves science communication, tech and public engagement. I currently work with WWF based in Melbourne, Australia.

My research interest is in marine conservation, climate, and crowdsourcing—specifically how to visualize and communicate data for decision-making.

I have co-authored publications on whale ecology, habitat modelling and acoustics. From 2000-2005, I worked with biologist Dr Roger Payne as part of the global, multi-year expedition, the Voyage of the Odyssey, studying sperm whales and ocean pollution. Working in 22 countries, I produced the award-winning online series for PBS Television from the field.

I have worked with a variety of international media outlets, nonprofit and government organizations producing innovative projects for WWF, CSIRO, National Geographic, Ocean Alliance, NOAA, American Museum of Natural History, Oxfam, Ocean Foundation, BBC and PBS Television.

I have produced a number of films on environmental topics including the critically endangered Vaquita in Mexico.

In 2017, I am starting a PhD studying sperm whales and bioacoustics with Curtin University's Centre of Marine Science and Technology.
