Chris Khalil

Chris is Head of Digital Customer Experience at ANZ Bank, Australia. hHe has 18 years experience working in the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) field and holds a PhD in the subject. In his time Chris has turned his hand to a few interesting user experiences such as the design of thermonuclear power plant control panels, immersive augmented reality environments, seismic simulators, intelligent agent interactions, websites and virtual worlds such as Second Life. He has presented at a variety of international conferences and published numerous papers in the field. His work has been nominated for several national awards. As well as his work at NDM he has designed experiences for clients such as BHP Billiton, CGU, Goodyear/Dunlop and Schlumberger (Oxford) and worked on HCI research at Loughborough University, University College London and XeroxParc Europe (Cambridge). All three of these institutions were deemed ‘World Class’ for HCI by the International Computer Science Review. Chris has been leading User Experience (UX) teams since his PhD days, where he ran a large European Union Research project. Since then he has led a team of developers in his capacity as a Usability Architect and ran a multi-disciplinary Design Team as well as being Project Manager for a $2.4million workspace and building relocation project. Chris has also been the Leader of the ‘Computer-Human Interaction Special Interest Group’ (CHISIG) for the state of Victoria and is a Member of the Institute of Engineering Technology (MIET).
