Chris Banke

Every since he was very young, Chris Banke demonstrated a strong love of dog training. When he was just 15, he founded the Algemeiner Schutzhund Club and he knew right then that he had found his career – something he would always want to do. While there, one of the trainers helped him focus on German Shepherds and then one of the top ten trainers in the country helped him improve his training skills even more. With that experience under his belt, he then founded his own dog training business at the age of 19, which he called “Chris Banke Protection Dog Trainer.”

For more than 30 years since then, he has trained and coached a great many dogs, and he has also done some coaching and assisted many other competitive handlers complete their tasks. Chris Banke also founded his own breeding kennel, with many of the dogs he bred going on to compete at local, state, regional and national levels. Many of the dogs he has bred have also gone on to work in law enforcement as well as to work in entertainment. One of them appeared in an Oscar-nominated movie in 2008.
