I wear a lot of metaphorical hats in the comics industry--I rarely wear real ones though.

I am the co-founder and Festival Director of The Toronto Comic Arts Festival, an annual event promoting Canadian graphic novels and their authors held each May. TCAF 2017 takes place May 13th and 14th, we hope to see you there.

I'm also currently the Manager of Toronto's The Beguiling Books & Art, widely considered one of the best comic book stores in the world. I also helped to open a new store, Page & Panel: The TCAF Shop, in winter of 2014/2015, and I am a product specialist there.

In April 2011, I led a team to organize the event Artists Help Japan: Toronto, part of an international effort of artists to raise funds for quake and tsunami relief, which devestated northern Japan, March 11th, 2011. Our team, through the generous donations of Toronto artists and the public, raised $20,000 for Tsunami relief. [link]

From May 2011 through October 2011, the exhibit JAPAN: CULTURE, TRADITION, INNOVATION ran at the Canadian Museum of Civilisation. I was a special guest curator working on this major exhibit, specialising in the fields of popular culture, manga, and anime. [link]

I'm a somewhat infrequent journalist these days, though I still contribute occasional articles to various journalistic efforts primarily related to comics, retailing, and queer issues, when time permits. My main journalistic outlet is Comics212.net.

I live in Toronto, Canada with my husband, but travel frequently to the United States and Japan.
