I'm a former hacker-for-hire (a/k/a security consultant) who switched from offense to defense. I lead research and product security at Veracode, a Boston-based cybersecurity company.

I speak worldwide on topics such as secure coding, software testing, security metrics, agile security, secure DevOps, and (a long time ago) cryptography. I enjoy meeting and learning from smart people, preferably in small groups.

Occasionally, I'm a media spokesperson for cybersecurity-related news stories. Bloomberg, Fox Business, CBS, and other prominent media outlets have interviewed me as part of their coverage.

I'm a review board member for the Black Hat USA and Kaspersky SAS conferences.

I dabble in photography, cooking, and craft cocktails.

Pet peeves: [1] Overzealous social network synchronization. [2] The word "ask" used as a noun. [3] Everything about the phrase "thought leadership" (see website link above).
