I'm a former hacker-for-hire (a/k/a security consultant) who's switched from attacking to defending. I lead the research team at Veracode, a Boston-based cybersecurity company tackling the Sisyphean challenge of securing the world's software.

I speak worldwide on topics such as secure coding, software testing, security metrics, agile security, and (a long time ago) cryptography. I enjoy meeting and learning from smart people, preferably in small groups.

I dabble in photography, root for Cal sports, consume craft cocktails, and await the next great Britcom.

I unabashedly support the Oxford comma.

Pet peeves: [1] Overzealous social network synchronization. [2] Using the word "ask" as a noun. [3] The phrase "thought leadership" (see website link above).
