Chris Garrett

Durham, North Carolina

I'm a board member for Pregnancy Support Services of Durham and a former director of the Samaritan Health Center.

I love Turkish coffee but only with plenty of sugar. I do communicate well with animals, I'm a one-and-done marathoner, a Cardinals fan, a performing juggler, wannabee surfer, lover of cultures both Russian and Filipino.

I grew up in the suburbs of St. Louis. Since, I've lived in Los Angeles, Orlando, Raleigh, Boston, Tashkent, Cairo, Manila and Durham. I've worked a lot of jobs not listed on my resume including short stints as a basketball coach, summer camp counselor, retail stock person, high rise painter, inner-city pastor, English tutor, fox hunt club waiter, and free medical clinic director, to name a few. It's been an exciting journey so far!

Major influences in my life include Bill Bright, Tim Keller, John Piper, Paul Kooistra, David Bowen, Dallas Willard, and C.S. Lewis.

I am the father of 4, blessed husband of Jenny, and wonderfully blessed associate pastor at The Church of the Good Shepherd in Durham, NC.
