Chris Drew

Chris Drew graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in Urban and Regional Planning. While at Ryerson, Chris worked part-time for the Hon. Bill Graham, MP for Toronto Centre and was Vice-President Finance and Services at the Ryerson Students’ Union. Chris’ favourite experience at Ryerson was being a member of the Close Gould Street team which successfully lobbied and brought together students, the Administration and the City to make Gould an exciting and safe place for pedestrians.

Policy development is one of Chris’ passions. He was elected Policy Director of the Ontario Young Liberals in 2008 where he facilitated the development of policy by the largest political party youth wing in the country. After graduating, Chris continued his career in politics by working for the Hon. George Smitherman as a political organizer. Recently, Chris worked as a Community Planner for the Hon. Glen Murray, MPP for Toronto Centre. In this capacity, Chris led a process to develop plans for each of Toronto Centre’s 11 diverse neighbourhoods – predominantly through public meetings and stakeholder outreach.

Chris has continued in the planning profession as an Associate with EN Consulting at the Centre for Social Innovation on Spadina where he works with clients in the development industry, non-profits and community organizations. Chris is a Ward Captain with the Toronto Cyclists’ Union and is on the working group to establish the new Church-Wellesley Neighbourhood Association in one of the most diverse neighbourhoods in downtown Toronto.
