Chris Moehle

An accomplished executive in the robotics industry, Chris Moehle draws upon more than a decade of experience in his position as managing director of the Robotics Hub in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In this leadership role, he guides an innovative venture capital fund that identifies and invests in robotics companies that are making a positive impact on society. Under the direction of Chris Moehle, the Robotics Hub has invested in nine companies to date, with several of these receiving substantial additional funding in later rounds.
Prior to his current role, Chris Moehle spent two years as associate director of new ventures for the National Robotics Engineering Center (NREC) at Carnegie Mellon University. There, he helped guide the NREC’s transition from a model reliant on commercial licensing to one that leveraged spinouts and joint ventures. To this end, he led market research, business intelligence initiatives, and commercial strategies that sparked multiple startups in the robotics sector.
An active member of the field, Chris Moehle serves as a board advisor or board director for human-oriented companies such as JDV Robotics, Agility Robotics, and Ariel Precision Medicine. He holds a PhD in physiology and physics from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon.
